World Water Day 2011 (WWD 2011) convened in Cape Town, South Africa on 22 March 2011. Building on the outcomes from the 5th World Water Forum of Istanbul and other recognised international processes, participants of the kick-off meeting (june 2010)were asked to go beyond identifying important themes and issues, and instead to think about solutions to the world’s major water and sanitation challenges and how to achieve them. Indeed, the 6th World Water Forum will strive to be the “Forum of Solutions.” The development process will aim to find solutions by first identifying targets for a certain number of priority issues.

7th EE & RES Congress and Exhibition for South-East Europe
You are invited to attend the annual meeting of the EUWI Finance Working Group from 9 to 13-00 on 8 September 2010 in Room K15 during the Stockholm Water Week. A light lunch will be available after the FWG and before the Africa Working Group that meets in the afternoon.
There are two key issue: discussion of a Report of the OECD on Financing WRM, and a discussion on future work and funding for the FWG.
The annual EU Water Initiative Multi-Stakeholder Forum took place during last World Water Week! Date and place:Thursday 9th September 9.00-12.30, room T6 at Älvsjömässan, Stockholm
The theme for 2010 will be global water quality challenges. Different aspects of water quality will be taken up during the week, including how to prevent, wisely use and abate water pollution.
